Mahakumbh 2025: Strong strategy in Kashi regarding Mahakumbh

A meeting was held on Saturday in the Commissioner’s Auditorium under the chairmanship of Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal and Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma regarding the preparations for the Maha Kumbh. Before this, the Police Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner and DM S Rajlingam inspected the Cantt Station, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple premises. Also, gave necessary guidelines regarding security. The Police Commissioner instructed to install CCTV cameras at temporary bus stands. He directed to arrange ID cards for all roadways employees and give them to the traffic police along with their phone numbers.
The Police Commissioner conducted a joint survey with the Traffic, Transport and Public Works Department and directed to mark all the black spots, accident spots in the last few months and if any black spot has been created due to construction, then fix them and install traffic indicators at appropriate places. The Transport Department was instructed to fix the black spots on all highways along with the National Highway Authority and also take a list of the marked spots from all the police stations and fix them with immediate effect. Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma asked to ensure a beggary and plastic free city along with fixing fares of buses, auto rickshaws, e-rickshaws and boats. All development works along with road works were asked to be completed within the stipulated time so that the devotees coming to Varanasi during Maha Kumbh do not face any inconvenience. PWD informed that work is being done at a fast pace to complete the work on all the six roads under construction.
